Developing inspirational teachers today for every child tomorrow

The Graduate Teacher Programme (GTP) and Overseas Trained Teacher Programme (OTTP) are employment-based routes to Qualified Teacher Status offered by Southend Teacher Training Partnership Limited. The Partnership is a consortium of over fifty Primary and Secondary schools in Southend, Thurrock and Essex. Working with South Essex College and the Local Authority, we draw upon many years of successfully responding to local and regional school and college workforce needs. Over 700 new teachers have entered the profession through our training programmes since 2003, making us the largest provider of employment-based initial teacher training in Southend.

So what’s in it for you?

You can earn a salary as you train. Salary range starts at £15,814 but may be negotiable depending on your previous experience. You can live at home and work locally - no need to travel long distances for training and teaching practice. You will be based in a local school where you can learn from experienced practitioners and skilled professionals. We can offer a flexible route through the programme and we take account of your existing skills and previous experience. You will receive support from a School based Trainer who will monitor your progress and ensure that your Training Plan is right for you.
